Experience the Colorado River below Hoover Dam
This is a unique day trip, aboard a motor-assisted inflatable raft, through spectacular Black Canyon - the natural gorge of the Colorado River immediately below Hoover Dam. Enjoy and share in the history, desert wildlife and beauty of this otherwise inaccessible and rugged landscape.
We provide round trip transportation from various Las Vegas hotels, or you can choose to meet us at our check-in desk located in the Hacienda Hotel & Casino on Highway 93 just outside of historic Boulder City. You'll board comfortable tour buses for transportation to the restricted launch area at the base of the Hoover Dam at the river's edge.

TOUR DETAILS: This is an extremely rare view of the Hoover Dam that very few people have the opportunity to see. Guests board large comfortable rafts that have been carefully constructed with safety in mind. Rafts have multiple air chambers and are outfitted with all of the Coast Guard required and recommended safety equipment.
During this excursion, experienced and knowledgeable guides share the history of this magnificent geological area. The high canyon walls will leave you breathless. Be prepared to see Desert Big Horn Sheep, Osprey, and Great Blue Heron in their natural setting.
This tour stops along the shore to give you a chance to enjoy the cool, clear and calm waters below Hoover Dam. You might take this opportunity to enjoy the box lunch provided while watching and listening to the sights and sounds of this magnificent desert.
Your trip ends on the Arizona side of the Colorado River at Willow Beach - the uppermost boundary of Lake Mohave. Here you have the chance to shop for unique souvenirs of your trip before boarding air-conditioned tour buses for the return trip over the Mike O'Callaghan Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge to our tour desk or your Las Vegas hotel.

*Adult price includes the $5.00 National Park entrance fee. Any person under 16 years of age will not be charged an entrance fee. Entrance fee is waived for passengers holding National Park Passes, Golden Age, Eagle or Access passes.
**Transportation rates include roundtrip transportation of guests between Las Vegas hotels and Black Canyon/Willow Beach River Adventures check-in desk located in the Hacienda Hotel. This transportation service is provided separate from the raft trip and is outside the governance of the National Park Service.

From the Hacienda Hotel and Casino, you're transported to the Colorado River at the base of Hoover Dam. Access to the launch site is via the Lower Portal Road into the secure zone of Hoover Dam.

Colorado River Exploration Tour

Starting on the Las Vegas strip, travel back in time on a scenic ride to Eldorado Canyon. Visit the historic Eldorado Canyon's Techatticup Mine. Learn about one of Nevada's earliest industries and-second to gaming - its most prosperous.
Along the way, you will learn about the early explorers of the Las Vegas Valley and how the Colorado River helped or hindered their exploration. Be prepared to see historical buildings, an actual gold mine, geological wonders, and native desert big horn sheep. Then it is down to Nelson's Landing to board our raft for your Colorado River adventure to Willow Beach.

TOUR DETAILS: The Eldorado Canyon Mine experience will include a guided above and below ground tour of the Techatticup mine. During the tour you will learn about the history of one of the oldest and most famous gold mines in Southern Nevada. It is said that "man per man and mile per mile Eldorado Canyon has a wider range of historical events than anywhere in the Wild West". You will explore a short length of the mine and actually see the veins of ore the miners chased while being regaled with stories of the past and present. The air temperature in the mine is a cool and comfortable 70F year around. Photo opportunities abound of the numerous historical buildings in the area.
Following an hour-long guided mine tour, replete with intriguing folklore and facts about Nevada's mining history and adventures of the Wild West, visitors will proceed to Nelson's Landing at the Colorado River for a 2 ½ hour river smooth-water river adventure into the Black Canyon. Visitors will board a large, motorized raft and follow the same route that early explorers on steamboats plied in their attempt to find gold, transportation routes and adventure. A veteran raft pilot will tell stories of early river explorers, point out interesting geological formations, and provide information on the local flora and fauna.
After arriving at Willow Beach Marina, visitors will return to Las Vegas with a short photo opportunity stop at Hoover Dam - a modern civil engineering wonder and icon of the Southwest.
